When it comes to perfumes, I have my seasonal favorites. Something a little more floral for spring, fruity for summer, and I definitely lean warm & musky for fall and winter. However, there are a few that transcend the time of year– and I think I just found a new favorite.
Jennifer Aniston Chapter One was inspired by the “California lifestyle”… perhaps why I love it so much as a native? One sniff and I instantly feel laid back and happy. It’s subtly sweet with notes of grapevine flowers, but with the warmth of skin musk and teakwood for that calm mood. The pink pepper, bergamot and orange flower balance it out with a bit of brightness.
Because it has a little bit of everything, this fragrance is perfect year round and is versatile enough for every day activities, as well as special events. It’s elegant without being “old lady”ish. As I become less drawn to those sickly-sweet scents of my teen years, this is a great transition into something I consider sophisticated, chic, yet modern.
Chapter One lasts on my skin for a good while, and I don’t find it to change throughout the day. Some perfumes transform with my body chemistry so that certain notes come out as it wears, but not with this one. It also dries down rather quickly and doesn’t need a lot of time to settle into my skin. It’s never overbearing, and gives you this beautiful aroma that almost smells natural.
The bottle has a unique curved shape to it that is easy to hold in the palm of your hand. As much as I love huge, ornate bottles, this one is actually functional for the woman who wants to wear it often. I also love that it’s already in a TSA-friendly size so you don’t have to worry about decanting it for travel. It’s simple yet graceful to match the perfume itself.
Jennifer Aniston Chapter One is available exclusively at Kohl’s. There are two sizes available– 1oz for $42 and 1.7oz for $55. Of course, Kohl’s always runs really great sales and you will hardly ever have to pay full price for this. In fact, the larger size is currently on sale for less than $50!
