As someone who experiences acne and acne scarring, full coverage foundations are the backbone of most of my makeup looks. They offer me a blank slate to start with, so my skin is never a distraction. Out of the countless products on the shelves claiming to smooth, conceal and blur, I’ve found the four best full coverage drugstore foundations.

1. Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer ($8.99)

This is a one-and-done foundation that offers me enough coverage so I can skip concealer. The Conceal + Perfect Foundation finish is slightly dewy, so powdering is usually a must for me to get it to last. The coverage stays strong for almost a full eight hours– only slightly breaking down in the t-zone where I get oily. I think this is definitely best for normal to dry skin types, though as a combo girl I can get away with blotting throughout the day. Also something to note: this foundation oxidizes, so you should try going one shade lighter than you think you are.

2. L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation ($12.99)

This has become my every-day foundation when I was coverage that still looks natural. The Pro-Glow Foundation is a thin yet creamy formula that blends really easily. The coverage is buildable, and it doesn’t take much to get to full. Even when you’ve covered everything, it never feels heavy and you still maintain a gorgeous natural glow. Plus, the SPF 15 helps give you protection, too! This is another foundation that is on the dewier side. If you have oily skin, or prefer a matte finish, check out the matte version of this same foundation. http://rstyle.me/n/cr5k9kbpah7

3. Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation ($4.97)

See my full review, plus a before and after here.

You’re getting the biggest bang for your buck with a tube of this foundation! With a recently expanded shade range, the Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation will be the heaviest formula of these picks. You hardly need a quarter-sized amount to cover your whole face and get perfect coverage. It’s best to apply this one in thin layers to avoid a cakey appearance. While it sets matte, and offers oil control throughout the day, it doesn’t look dry. You get a smoother, natural appearance with coverage that has lasts about 8 hours on me. This is perfect for normal to oily skin when you need a side of oil control with your look.

4. Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation ($9.99)

See my full review, plus a before and after here.

The newest release on this list, the Healthy Elixir Foundation is an oil-free liquid foundation with lightweight, full coverage. SPF 20 and vitamins help keep skin healthy underneath! The application starts at a strong medium coverage that builds up quickly to blur the skin. It minimizes my fine lines, covers any redness and even makes my skin texture look smoother. If I powder my zone at the beginning of the day, the foundation lasts about 9 hours on my combo skin. This foundation is heavily scented, though, so beware if you have a sensitive sniffer.
